Kayseri Turkey

About ninety kilometers from the center of Cappadocia is Kayseri, a city founded in the second century BC, although the area was inhabited until the Bronze Age. A visit to the city allows visitors to see the Citadel, built by Justinian in the 6th century, although at present it looks more like a medieval fortress. Here you can visit the Medersa, the Huant Hatun Mosque, an example of pre-Romanesque architecture and Doner Kümbet, a monumental Seljuque tomb. The Archaeological Museum of the city collects interesting collections. Nearby is one of the most important bird reserves in the world, where about 251 species of birds are in danger of extinction, is the Sazligi Nature Reserve.
